Rata Silage Grabs are a multi-task attachment built to perform on your Tractor front end loader, Telehandler (2.2m sizes or larger) or Skid Steer.
With the ability of a fork & the versatility of a grab, this attachment makes bulk silage and bale handling work easy.
Being manufactured from high tensile steel makes it the strongest Silage Grab of its type available on the Australian & New Zealand market.
Rata Silage Grabs are ideal for high volume silage handling. The Grab has been the popular choice on NZ farms for many years due to its high quality build & ability to secure large amounts of silage & leave the stack or pit face clean.
All Rata Silage Grabs feature powerful hydraulic rams that bite through any silage stack and securely clamp the feed, All grabs have x2 rams apart from the ASG120 (1.2m model) which has a single centre mounted ram.
Tines are high quality and manufactured from silicium spring steel by a renowned German manufacturer, these tines are also supported with tapered conus bushes that provide extra support when under load.
With a wide opening width of 1510mm this grab can easily handle large quantities of silage or large bales. The dimension is taken from the tip of the base tine directly to the tip of the top tine.
The pin geometry has been designed to provide maximum pressure possible at every point in the open and close arc. This makes it easier to use with high clamping pressure available at all times.

All Rata Silage Shear Grabs feature a serrated knife cutting edge. Serrated teeth cut the silage faster, stay sharper for longer, serrated teeth along with rounded grab face also help keep the stack sealed which prevents secondary fermentation.
Hydraulic rams on Grabs are large and powerful to cut through the most dense silage stacks. Models under 2.1m wide have 2 Rams. Models 2.1m wide and above come with 3 hydraulic rams.
Rata Grabs are designed and built heavy duty to cope with a long, hard working life. Heavy steel plate, bushes and bosses ensure maximum strength and support. Particularly around pivot points and high stress load areas.
Hydraulic hoses are routed to keep away from the working area of the Shear Grab. This ensures they are kept out of harms way whilst remaining easy to access.
An optional bucket insert is available upon request. This effectively turns the shear grab into a bucket shear grab for use on fine materials and feeds.
